ABOUT ME
I am a graduate student studying soil science, with the overall aim to become a skilled research scientist that can bring experimental insights into the classroom and effectively teach people about soil science.

Prior to continuing my education I - like many in my family - served in the United States Marine Corps where I was as a direct air support controller.
Current research

EDUCATION
Dr. Johannes Lehmann's research group
My project as a member of this lab encompasses identifying how molecular diversity of soil organic matter influence soil organic carbon persistence.

2018 - present
Cornell University
Ph.D, Soil and Crop Sciences
Dr. Marco Keiluweit's research group
My main project as a member of this research group focused on studying soil organic matter cycling in seasonally flooded mineral soils (i.e., vernal pools).
I also studied how long-term experimental warming impacts the redox capacity (i.e., ability to donate and accept electrons) of soil organic matter.
